Stuart Stiffey, DVM
Chief of Staff
Dr. Stiffey is a member of New Baltimore Animal Hospital's veterinary team since 2013, currently serving as our chief-of-staff. A native of Pearl River, he currently resides in Woodstock, NY. Dr. Stiffey completed undergraduate studies at SUNY Albany in 1984 before earning a DVM degree from veterinary school at Louisiana State University in 1995.
Prior to New Baltimore Animal Hospital, Dr. Stiffey practiced veterinary medicine at Banfield of Newburgh in New York; VCA Montgomery Road Animal Hospital in Westfield, MA; South Peak Veterinary Hospital in Woodstock, NY; and Merrimack Veterinary Hospital in Merrimack, NH. His medical interests include surgery and epidemiology.
Family is very important to Dr. Stiffey. He enjoys spending time with his wife Margaret, a retired graphic designer, and their daughter Julia, who was adopted from Moldova, his maternal grandparent's country. He also enjoys his time with his pup, Mr. Spats, a Collie who loves bagels!
Dr. Stiffey has been an avid cyclist for many years, having ridden across the country three times. He also enjoy hiking, and has completed most of the Appalachian trail. Woodworking, metal working, and home improvement are other hobbies he enjoys in his free time. Currently, Dr. Stiffey is working on a patio and cladding the foundation of his house with stone found on the property.
